Guided E-Learning Level 2 Terms and Conditions
Please ensure that you understand and accept the Terms and Conditions below.
Internet Connection
You will need an internet connection and working webcam (in-built or external) that will support group sessions on Zoom and streaming videos through Vimeo - test your connection here.
Course Structure and Attendance Requirements
Proficiency assessment takes place gradually during the live online sessions throughout the course, and therefore attendance is necessary. The course has been designed to support trainees to meet the minimum required standard in order to complete the training.
Study Groups are held every other weekend and last about 90 mins. They scheduled to start anytime between 7am and 8pm in your time zone and are led by experienced Ren Xue teachers. Trainees are grouped in cohorts of approximately 15 people based on time zones and the sessions are scheduled at an accessible time of day. These sessions focus on discussion about specific topics (refer to the course schedule) and provide an opportunity to ask questions. They also cover teaching Yuan Gong methods and form part of the proficiency assessment.
A minimum of 80% of Study Groups must be attended live online. If it is not possible to attend a session live (no more than 20% of sessions), the session needs to be watched via the recording before the next scheduled Study Group.
Recordings of Study are available to all members of your intake.
Group Practice sessions led by experienced Ren Xue teachers are held mid-week, once per week, and last about 60 minutes. These focus on practicing the Yuan Gong methods together. The scheduled time of these sessions usually alternates weekly between 2 or 3 different times to allow participants in different time zones an opportunity to attend live.
Group Practice forms part of the proficiency assessment, and therefore we recommend that you attend as many sessions as possible live online. If you are unable to attend a Group Practice live online, we ask that you watch it via the recording prior to the next scheduled Group Practice.
Recordings of Group Practice are available to all members of your intake as well as anyone accessing the Original Teacher Training of the same level.
Buddy Groups are smaller groups of 4-8 fellow trainees (without teachers), typically in a similar time zone. Group members self-organize a convenient time to meet and are given topics to discuss and exercises to practice based on the course schedule. To enable this process, your email will be shared with other members of the intake as needed.
Buddy Groups are held as often as you like. We recommend meeting at least once every two weeks. As this training program is delivered virtually, everyone’s active participation really strengthens the group and provides everyone in the course with a much richer experience. Lifelong friendships are often developed during these courses, which allows for the creation of a strong support network for future Ren Xue teachers and the community.
The online course is also comprised of video excerpts from the Original in-person teacher training, an up-to-date course manual, quizzes, and reflection and integration activities. To complete the course, these need to all be watched, read, and completed, respectively.
Assessment
Theory questions are completed at the end of the training prior to the last Study Group. They are generally multiple choice, true/false, matching, or fill-in-the-blank questions, and are similar to a short quiz.
Practical assessment is carried out by the facilitators during live Study Group and Group Practice sessions throughout the course and is completed prior to the final Study Group session.
Sharing with Yuan Tze in writing about what you have learned during the training and how you plan to apply it. This must be submitted in the final week of the course, prior to the last Study Group.
Completion of Training
All assessments must be completed in order to complete the training. The assessments are carried out during the course, and therefore all trainees are expected to complete their training by the final Study Group session.
If any assessments are incomplete after the final Study Group, the trainee may:
1. Pay one NZ$50 fee to complete any of the assessments late. After paying this fee, the trainee may:
- Submit the answers to the theory questions
- Submit sharing with Yuan Tze
- Schedule a practical assessment if they are unable to pass the practical assessment during the course even though they have attended at least 80% of the Study Groups live.
2. Join a future intake. However, there will be a fee to rejoin, as detailed in the Deferral section below.
If a trainee does not attend 80% of Study Groups live, the trainee will need to join a future intake and pay the rejoining fee.
Non-completion prior to February 2025
Prior to February 2025, trainees who didn't complete the assessments during the course could complete them in their own time after the course ended. In order to bring all trainees under the same Terms and Conditions, this option is being phased out.
For these trainees, there are two options for completing their current level of training:
1) Complete all assessments by June 1st, 2026 at no cost, or
2) Rejoin one intake by June 1st, 2026 at no cost under the new Terms and Conditions outlined on this page.
The deferral fees and practical assessment fee outlined on this page apply after June 1st, 2026.
Trainees wishing to join a new intake need to email teachersupport@renxueinternational.org and specify which intake they wish to join.
Trainees not wishing or able to join another Guided intake may switch to the Original teacher training of the same level. Please refer to Cancellations and Switching below.
Deferral
It is understandable that personal circumstances sometimes change and a trainee may need to defer their training.
Rejoining fee
If a trainee defers, they may join a future intake of the same level of training. However, a rejoining fee will apply:
$NZ100 to join a second time
$NZ412.50 (50% of the full tuition) to join a third or additional time
Fee waiver
Under special circumstances and at the discretion of Ren Xue International, fees may be waived upon request to the Teacher Program (teachersupport@renxueinternational.org).
Deferrals prior to February 2025
Prior to February 2025, training could be deferred without charge. In order to bring all trainees under the same Terms and Conditions, this option is being phased out.
These trainees may rejoin one intake of their current level of training by June 1st, 2026 at no cost. The above deferral fees apply after June 1st, 2026 and for subsequent deferrals.
Trainees wishing to rejoin need to email teachersupport@renxueinternational.org and specify which intake they wish to join.
Trainees not wishing or able to join another Guided intake may switch to the Original teacher training of the same level. Please refer to Cancellations and Switching below.
Payment Methods
We prefer to receive payment via Direct Bank Transfer due to the third-party transaction fees we incur for payments via PayPal and credit card.
Cancellations and Switching
Trainees should discuss any concerns with their facilitators, who are there to provide support.
Cancellations
A trainee may cancel their enrollment at any time, however there is no refund or credit for cancellations after four weeks from the first Study Group session.
If a trainee requests a cancellation within the initial 4 weeks of the first Study Group session, they may receive one of the following:
• A 50% refund of fees paid, less any third-party payment fees for payment by credit card or PayPal.
• A credit with Ren Xue International for the full amount of course fees paid. This credit is valid until the end of the calendar year it is issued and can be spent on the Learn REN XUE website towards Teacher Training, Yuan Tze’s online events (live and replay), books, audios, videos, CDs and DVDs.
Switching
Occasionally, a trainee will find that the self-paced Original E-Learning is more suited to their circumstances. A trainee may switch to the self-paced Original E-Learning at any time. However, there is no refund or credit for switching after four weeks from the first Study Group session.
If a trainee requests to switch within the initial 4 weeks of the first Study Group session, they may receive the difference between fees paid for the Guided E-Learning and the price of Original E-Learning in the following form:
• A refund, less any third-party payment fees for payment by credit card or PayPal.
• A credit with Ren Xue International. This credit is valid until the end of the calendar year it is issued and can be spent on the Learn REN XUE website towards Teacher Training, Yuan Tze’s online events (live and replay), books, audios, videos, CDs and DVDs.
Requests to switch are at the discretion of Ren Xue International and must be submitted to the Teacher Program at teachersupport@renxueinternational.org.
Prerequisites
Levels of Ren Xue Teacher Training must be completed in sequential order, starting with Level 1. In order to enrol in Level 1, you need to have been accepted into the REN XUE Teacher Training Program.
Exceptions to these Terms and Conditions may be made for special circumstances, at the discretion of Ren Xue International, by sending a request to the Teacher Program at teachersupport@renxueinternational.org.
If you agree to all of the topics above, we are ready for you to register your interest for the next intake!
